It is frustrating to wake up in the morning and see that your face has a break out of acne. This seems to happen at a bad time, such as before an important business meeting or
as you are getting ready for an event such as a a wedding of a friend. You can’t help but be overly conscious, wondering if people are going to notice. Does this sound familiar? Not to worry though, because there are ways that this problem can be treated. Acne can’t be treated in a single minute, however some steps can be taken to prevent acne from getting out of hand.
One of the first myths that should be brought up is the myth that popping pimples will get rid of acne. It is strongly recommended that people not pop pimples, as this can make acne worse than it all ready is. On top of that, scars, marks, and more acne can develop in place of it. As tempting as it might be, it is best to leave the pimples alone. The type of treatment largely depends on the type of skin a person has. As a general rule, washing the face gently will lessen the chances of acne developing in to something bigger. Don’t wash your face too harshly though, otherwise you will push the oil and dirt that is on your face in to the pores of your skin which could end up building more acne.
If that isn’t enough, look at the type of skin you have, whether it it is sensitive or not, and oiley or dry. It also depends on the type of acne you have. Milder acne that has black heads and white heads don’t necessarily require a harsh treatment as acne that develops in to cysts. It might be worth a visit to a dermatologist, who has more knowledge about the various treatments there are for different types of acne. So while there is no definite treatment that works for every person, there are plenty of options a person can choose from. Acne shouldn’t be something that a person should have to worry about. It is an ongoing battle that teens and adults face.
